Key Responsibilities
- Perform the duties of the Workplace Safety and Health Officer as required under the Workplace Safety and Health Act and attend the required courses to attain SDU credits/points to renew and maintain the WSHO license.
- Perform the duties of Fire Safety Manager where applicable under the Fire Safety Act and attend the required courses to attain CPD credits/points to renew and maintain FSM licence.
- Conduct monthly Business Unit HSSE Steering Committee meetings as per the SATS and regulatory framework agenda including reporting of safety performance and status of initiatives and actions.
- Collaborate with BU and Department Heads to design, implement and sustain programmes to reduce incidents and promote a positive safety culture which include Gemba Walks, focus group sessions, safety initiatives, safety campaigns/outreach, Safety Time Out, etc.
- Drive initiatives arising from SATS Board and Management HSSE Steering Committee meetings in accordance to the workplans.
- Submission of safety reports which include HSSE Steering Committee meeting minutes, presentation decks, inspection reports, incident investigations, safety statistics, etc.
- Conduct, coordinate, review, update, maintain and monitor risk assessments as the appointed Risk Assessment leader in accordance to the legal requirements, including maintaining of Risk Register, ensuring currency and communication to the BU Management.
- Conduct incident investigations and/or validate completed investigation root cause and submission of the required reports to the required stakeholders.
- Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness, timely closure of safety corrective and preventive actions from various drivers such as hazard reporting, incident investigations, inspections, audits, etc. which include preparing the Business Unit for internal and external audits.
- Communicate and liaise with business partners, WSH regulators and other external bodies on behalf of the organisation.
- Oversight and assurance on all compliance matters which include safety related licenses, legal requirements, incident reporting, submission of reports to authorities, etc.
- Implement contractor management and management of change program to ensure mitigation of risks associated with contractors/suppliers and new processes respectively.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Health and Safety, Ergonomics or Engineering or equivalent, or registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM, or minimally with a WSH level B qualification and on the pathway to receive WSHO qualification.
- Registered Fire Safety Manager with SCDF or minimally on the pathway to receive FSM qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Occupational Safety and Health.
- Preferably possess aviation operation and/or safety knowledge.
- Preferably possess safety internal auditor competency.
- Good knowledge of local and international regulations relating to Occupational Safety and Health.
- Familiar with ISO documentation, CAAS/CAG by-laws and ISAGO.
- Good planning, organizing, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with MS Office application.
- Able to work under minimal supervision and with all levels of employees and managerial staff.
- Able to collaborate with relevant external authorities and parties.
