As a SSD Manufacturing Test Firmware (MTFW) Validation Engineer at Micron, you will be part of a forward-thinking team of engineers that solves complex problems, responsible for enabling Micron’s products with flawless and issue-free release to both internal and external customers. MTFW validation engineers would work with key partners to validate and deliver MTFW solutions for the manufacturing test process that provides comprehensive, effective, and efficient leading indicators for the health of SSD and test coverage that ensures the functionality and reliability of Micron’s SSD.

Job Responsibilities

1. Perform firmware validation on SSD devices which include both new and sustaining devices with new MTFW revisions.
2. Define and create new validation test plans for new SSD products.
3. Conduct failure analysis of failures generated from validation runs and collaborate with various SSD Development groups to resolve issues detected.
4. Maintain and enhance validation coverage through regular reviews.
5. Communicate project status and report on a regular basis.
6. Work closely with various Development teams (Firmware, Hardware, Media Algorithm) to ensure smooth integration of the Manufacturing FW released to the production floor.
7. Develop test automation solutions to improve testability and execution efficiency.
8. Ensure that SSD manufactured are tested to meet or exceed the required functionality, usability, quality/reliability, and performance with efficient manufacturing firmware.

Requirements

1. Masters or Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering.
2. Working experience in either SSD or HDD industry.
3. Experience with SATA and/or NVMe storage interface protocols and Windows/Linux Operating Systems.
4. Programming knowledge in Python and C++.
5. Knowledge of storage device drivers and SATA and/or PCIe chipset register configurations would be beneficial.
