We’re looking to add a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
- Engage in both conceptual and detailed design tasks involving mechanical parts and modules, electro-mechanical subsystems, micro-mechanisms, and transmission systems.
- Utilize Finite Element Analysis/Computational Fluid Dynamic (FEA/CFD) simulations to verify design margin, tolerance analysis, and process/failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA/FMEA) as necessary.
- Employ Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools to enhance design manufacturability.
- Conduct impact analysis to refine designs, ensuring they meet specifications, project timelines, and cost objectives.
- Participate in technical discussions and present design solutions to clients.
- Coordinate the fabrication, assembly, and validation of prototypes to ensure they meet specifications.
- Author specifications, requirements, and validation plans for assigned design modules.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and part suppliers throughout the product lifecycle in a fast-paced environment.
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by the company.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Preferably possess solid knowledge and experience in product design, mechanisms, and product industrialization.
- Advantageous to have working knowledge and experience in various materials such as plastic, sheet metal, machining, extrusion, and silicone rubber parts.
- Proficient in CAD tools such as Solidworks and other simulation software.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis.
- Experience in packaging design is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical product compliance standards such as ISO13485 is advantageous.
- Additional advantage includes proficiency in simulation tools and programming skills (e.g., Python).
- Good team player with a passion for product design.
- May require occasional overseas travel.
