Main responsibilities:

• Assist the site in the design, lead and maintain a world-class Environmental program aligned with local and international codes, recognized industry standards, and Sanofi requirements from project conception to realization.
• Execute the site strategic roadmap to ensure compliance with various operating permitting licenses and Sanofi HSES Standards.
• Implement specific programs including Wastewater, Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS), Hazardous Wastes, Medical Wastes, Non-Hazardous Wastes, Air Emissions, Community & Boundary Noise Limitations, Storm Water, Trade Effluent, and the Planet Care program.
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to identify impacts and aspects of site environmental programs and implement ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
• Coordinate site-wide waste collections, characterization, and storage programs with licensed waste disposal contractors.
• Support Sanofi standards and programs to ensure compliance with local regulatory guidelines and Corporate HSES management system.
• Prepare and submit environmental permit and regulatory permit applications, compliance reports, and documentation.
• Understand applicable environmental permit and regulatory requirements and assess compliance risks.
• Develop standardized procedures and practices to minimize compliance risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement procedures and practices to minimize environmental risks and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Lead cross-functional teams on Environmental Sustainability programs.
• Report, investigate, and follow up on environmental releases and incidents.
• Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the site’s environmental sustainability programs.
• Lead the site’s environmental sustainability programs in collaboration with the sustainability team.
• Assist HSE Engineers in identifying and evaluating environmental protection needs for existing and new processes.
• Issue regular reports to senior management on compliance with various environmental regulations.
• Collect sustainability data and submit regular reports to corporate HSE.
• Manage various contractors on environmental sustainability programs.
• Meet the site HSES Goals and Performance objectives.
• Participate in corporate and biopharma community environmental sustainability programs.
• Assist in managing environmental sustainability expenses to meet the site’s operating budget.
• Implement, enforce, and take ownership of HSE requirements and initiatives.
• Share best practices and lessons learned to improve HSE culture on-site.
• Ensure all affiliates are competent and provided with necessary tools and equipment for safe work.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Head of HSES.
