Senior Engineer

Job Title: Senior Engineer - Maritime Systems and Technology Division

MPA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Maritime Systems and Technology Division. As a key member of our capability development team, you will play a critical role in driving and implementing MPA's next generation mission-critical port systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of new operational CONOPS and next generation mission-critical port systems
• Provide technical leadership and guidance at department-level for the smooth and timely execution of new projects
• Conduct front end technical studies, proof-of-concepts, technology trials and pre-AOR activities for new projects
• Motivate a small team to collaboratively deliver innovative project outcomes and seed new capabilities
• Handle multiple inter-connected mission-critical port systems
• Translate operational requirements into technical specifications, system designs, performance matrices and test specifications for new port systems across multiple domains
• Apply robust systems engineering concepts to solve problems with multiple dependencies for assigned domains
• Develop sound engineering plans for implementation of new multi-disciplinary projects within assigned domains
• Develop risk management plans and execute risk management activities for assigned medium-risk projects
• Lead NE functions such as planning, preparation and execution roles in technical support, standard operating procedures and contingency plans for assigned systems
• Monitor and track the development of shore-based infrastructure, shore-based systems and relevant technical specifications stipulated by international organizations
• Play an active role at department-level in efforts such as technology scanning, technical sharing, outreach, training, welfare and other tasks as required
• Apply advanced project management, contract management and budget management skills to ensure that assigned projects are delivered, managed and maintained within performance, cost and schedule

Requirements:

• Experience in managing Electrical/Electronic Engineering-related systems
• Prior knowledge in marine electronics, command and control and communications systems such as radars, sensors and radio systems
• Sound knowledge in system engineering and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in diverse teams and demonstrated ability to lead and manage stakeholders

Experienced candidates may be offered a more senior position (Principal Engineer / Senior Principal Engineer)
