Responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of all electrical related works at site.
Detailed design of all Electrical related works.
Interpret tender drawings and study the contract documents and applicable standards or specifications prior to design of the Electrical works.
Manage directly and provide engineering and technical support to all the electrical work groups at site.
Coordinate with Client / Consultant’s representatives for any site instructions and inspection of works.
Support the Construction Manager in accomplishing all the goals and targets for the electrical groups at site.
Ensure that all works are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and all applicable standards whether local, national or international.
Ensure that all site works are done according to all applicable quality standards.
Directly responsible for the safety of all electrical group personnel of the project by ensuring that the project execution is done according to all applicable health, safety, sanitary and environmental standards.
Technical Responsibilities:
Design, integration & coordination, installation & commissioning of mechanical systems and services required for the project.
Liaise with Construction/Installation Manager to ensure job is on schedule on Site.
Liaise with Client on all technical aspects of the project.
Provide engineering advice for the Construction/Installation Team.
Attend meetings with client on all disciplines of the work as required.
Prepare with the Quality Manager all Inspection and Test Plans and associated Project Specific Procedures.
Ensure that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that company procedures are followed.
Coordinate & integrate the design with other engineering design disciplines & services.
Ensure project timetabling requirements are met.
Develop / produce inspection & test and operating & maintenance manual documentation.
Ensure local regulatory and OHS requirements are maintained.
Ensure that the surveys of installations throughout the project are conducted in a professional manner with all results being reviewed and accepted by UGL. All actions resulting from these surveys are coordinated by the Engineer until completion.
Provide written reports on engineering activities as required by the Project Manager.
Mentor Engineering Graduates and Engineering Vacation Students (Engineering Assistant).
Maintain documentation and registers.
Provide monthly reporting data to the Engineering Manager as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer within a similar industry.
Degree in Electrical Engineering with more than 5 years’ experience in basic design requirements, fabrication, installation, T&C and all site activities related to electrical works.
Familiar with all electrical engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables and tool allocations related to electrical works.
Ability to work as part of a close-knit management team and manage numerous activities/projects simultaneously – both short and long term.
Ability to work on own initiative and with the minimum of supervision.
Outgoing personality essential for dealing directly with Clients and their design team.
Demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
