Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team, focusing on waste handling equipment, lorry-mounted cranes, and vehicle upper body superstructures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems related to these specialized vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical circuits and systems for waste compactors, hook lifts, skip loaders, and lorry cranes.
Integrate electrical components (sensors, controllers, wiring harnesses) into upper body structures and chassis-mounted systems.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers for optimal electro-mechanical integration.
Perform system diagnostics, testing, and commissioning of vehicles and equipment.
Prepare detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
Support installation teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting on-site or remotely.
Work with vendors to select appropriate electrical components and systems.
Participate in prototype development, field testing, and product improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
6+ years of experience in electrical design for mobile equipment, heavy vehicles, or similar sectors.
Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic control integration is an added advantage.
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design tools.
Good knowledge of vehicle electrical systems (12V/24V), CAN bus communication, PLCs, and controllers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally for site support or commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the waste management vehicle industry.
Familiarity with EU standards, and vehicle-specific compliance regulations.
Knowledge of telematics, IoT systems, or vehicle tracking technologies is a plus.
