Key Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary functional contact and technical expert for the Supplier Engineering functional team, interacting with engineering, operations community, and other functions as required.
- Provides technical/expert advice and recommendations to the Supplier Engineering leadership team in the areas of direction, global strategy and development.
- Demonstrates mentorship to team members to deliver projects on time, within budget, with quality, and within profit margins, while developing the technical capability/skill set of the global supplier engineering team.
- Establishes organizational procedures consistent with global supplier engineering standards.
- Executes and recommends continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma methodology) in areas of responsibilities, optimizing processes associated with group function on an ongoing basis.
- Serves as a role model, setting an example whose behavior is emulated by other engineering team members, including safe behavior and following proper protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates industry peer recognition through technical publications, accomplished BKMs proliferation, and a proven record of significant contributions within the Engineering Community.

Role
We are looking for a proven technical leader for this very strategic management role. This role will provide leadership and direction for global Supplier Engineering and Quality teams with expertise in Precision Machining, Contract Manufacturing, OEM, including Process Power, Automation and Controls. This position is accountable to ensure success of new Supplier Qualifications, manage Supply Chain Quality Performance, and resolve Technical, Quality and Operational Issues at suppliers.
The position will be based in Singapore and will report to the VP, Operations and Aftermarket Quality.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Education
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Broad understanding of the semiconductor fabrication supply chain.
- Ability to support Applied Material teams with their future and ongoing engagements with third-party providers, defining supplier and quality management.
- Validated experience in the Supplier Quality role as part of a multi-market business, with practical application of relevant quality standards and regulations.
- Experience in applying, facilitating, and guiding quality processes and methodologies or designing quality standards, procedures, and specifications for a complex global manufacturing company.
- Define, plan, establish and manage multiyear supplier quality initiatives including supplier qualification and assessment programs.
- Advanced Degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, Ceramics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent.
