Position Summary:

As the Senior Director, Sales, ROA, you will have strategic oversight across Japan, Taiwan, ANZ, and ASEAN to drive sales strategies, leading efforts to expand market share, delivering on ambitious growth targets, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and results. Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the unique needs and opportunities within Japan, Taiwan, ANZ, and ASEAN markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the sales team in the ROA region, ensuring high performance and alignment with regional commercial objectives.
  • Derive and drive the sales strategies in Rest of Asia region and make decisions based on market trends to drive competitive advantage and revenue growth.
  • Accountable for P&L management across the region, ensuring profitability and financial accountability in sales activities.
  • Manage key customer relationships and serve as the primary liaison with important stakeholders in the region.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and product distribution.
  • Negotiate and close deals, including complex sales contracts that meet the needs of both the company and its clients.
  • Establish and sustain distributor partnerships, ensuring compliance with company standards and effectiveness in market coverage.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Identify opportunities for new market creation and lead initiatives to establish presence in untapped markets.
  • Drive new business development efforts, from opportunity identification through to deal closure and integration.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all aspects of sales operations and activities.
  • Regularly report on sales results, market conditions, and the progress of strategic initiatives to senior management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years healthcare industry experience in sales, preferably in the industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven track record of successful sales leadership in Asia within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries.
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to drive sales team performance and achieve results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the market dynamics and regulatory environments in Asia.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Japanese, Mandarin, or other relevant languages is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow P&L with a keen understanding of financial metrics and levers.
  • Skilled in distributor management and the optimization of channel strategies to maximize market penetration.
  • Adept at developing and executing pricing strategies and managing contracts to optimize profit margins.
  • Proven competence in identifying and developing new business opportunities and markets, including effective launch strategies.
  • High level of resilience and adaptability, with the capacity to navigate complex and changing market conditions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to make data-driven decisions that align with long-term objectives.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities without compromising on quality.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region.

Physical and Travel Requirements:

  • 20-40% regional travel including occasional international travels.
  • Physically fit for frequent travels.
  • Evening conference calls to cater to time zone differences.
