Senior Director of Industry 4.0 and Automation

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director to lead our Industry 4.0 and Automation initiatives in the manufacturing semiconductor industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive lights-out manufacturing, digital transformation, increase efficiency, and reduce costs through the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies and automation solutions. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, business acumen, and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

In your new role you will:

1. Develop and execute a comprehensive Industry 4.0 and lights-out automation implementation strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives
2. Lead a team of engineers and managers to design, develop, and deploy Industry 4.0 solutions, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, and robotics
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement including developing business case
4. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, yield, and quality
5. Develop and manage budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure successful implementation of Industry 4.0 and automation initiatives
6. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation and learning from failures
7. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and industry associations
8. Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of Industry 4.0 and automation initiatives, including ROI, productivity, and quality improvements
9. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to Industry 4.0 and automation

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred
2. At least 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on lights-out manufacturing, automation, and digital transformation
3. Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale I4.0 transformation initiatives
4. Strong technical expertise in Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI, ML, IoT, and robotics
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
8. Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes, including wafer fabrication, assembly, and test
9. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as SEMI and ISO
10. Knowledgeable or certified in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
11. Experience with cloud-based platforms and factory systems/architecture.
