The Senior Corporate Counsel will play a key role in supporting Salesforce’s South East Asia and India Sales and Professional Services organisations in structuring commercial transactions and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements for our private sector and government customers.

This individual will be high-performing, results-driven, collaborative and should have prior management/mentoring experience. Strategic and critical thinking and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines while working closely with a wide array of cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment are essential to success in this role. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Teamwork: Although this is an individual contributor role you will play a pivotal role mentoring and guiding legal team members while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across the business (revenue recognition, sales operations, and pricing) to support processes for contracting and order processing.

  • Contract Execution: Review, negotiate, draft, and drive fast turnaround times on high-value agreements, including cloud, SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, partner agreements, and data processing addenda in support of the South East Asia and India sales, professional services, and alliances teams.

  • Public Sector & Commercial Contracting Expertise: Lead, negotiate, and close government contracts with ministries, statutory boards, public sector agencies, as well as commercial customers across South East Asia, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and corporate policies.

  • Lead & Deliver at Speed: Provide rapid, business-savvy legal advice while efficiently handling legal risk and ensuring compliance across public and private sector transactions.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with sales, privacy, and security teams to ensure smooth and efficient deal execution, and that agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes.

  • Alliances & Partner Transactions: Support negotiations related to reseller, distributor, and system integrator agreements, including ensuring compliance with public sector procurement requirements.

  • Dispute Resolution & Risk Mitigation – Advise on contract disputes, bid challenges, and regulatory inquiries, minimizing legal and operational risks.

  • Process Efficiency & Innovation – Identify and implement legal process improvements to drive efficiency and support rapid deal closure. Assist in developing training materials and provide training to internal teams on relevant legal topics and best practices.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • LL.B. or J.D. from University; valid practicing certificate in a common law jurisdiction.

  • Minimum 10 years of legal experience, with a shown ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and demanding industry.

  • Experience in leading or guiding teams highly preferred and a passion for mentoring team members

  • Demonstrated success in closing high value commercial technology contracts with government entities and private sector enterprises.

  • Experience in commercial contracting across highly regulated sectors, including financial services (FINS) and healthcare is preferred.

  • Deep knowledge of South East Asia public sector procurement frameworks, and compliance requirements. Strong regional experience in public sector contracting in Singapore is required. Experience in Thailand and Indonesia is preferred.

  • Exceptional contract negotiation and drafting skills, rigor/attention to detail, and strong legal reasoning, particularly in high-pressure commercial transactions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external collaborators.

  • Consistent track record developing and maintaining strong working relationships with demanding internal clients.

  • Familiar with and interested in technical concepts (Web applications, cloud computing, digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence) and the professional services associated with their implementation.

  • Highly adaptable and service-oriented attitude. Ability to handle pressure and provide thoughtful recommendations.

  • A can-do attitude—proactive, autonomous, resilient, adaptable, eager to continually learn and develop professionally, and a team-first mentality.
