Responsibilities

  • Identify and source high-quality content that aligns with the organization's goals, target audience, and content strategy.
  • Evaluate content submissions or proposals to ensure they meet quality standards and audience preferences in the SEA markets.
  • Negotiate content licensing agreements and contracts with content providers to secure rights for our OTT platform across the markets.
  • Develop & maintain relationships with content partners to ensure a steady pipeline of fresh and relevant content.
  • Manage & maintain content rights and contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and licensing terms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including content operations, legal, finance, and marketing teams to execute content acquisition strategies effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of acquired content, including engagement metrics, user feedback, and other relevant data, to support acquisition efforts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging content opportunities to make informed content acquisition strategies and decisions.

To succeed in this role

  • Degree or above with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in content acquisition or a related role in the media or entertainment industry
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and consumer behavior
  • Strong knowledge and interest in Asian content, especially Chinese dramas
  • Candidates with a good command of Chinese and Korean are preferred
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools to evaluate content performance and inform decision making.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels
  • Independent, detail-minded, and ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a rapidly changing environment and meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines
  • Possess a positive attitude and a strong sense of responsibility
