Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for assisting the Project Manager to lead the Construction Team.
  2. Manage, coordinate, and lead a team of construction managers including consortium partners.
  3. Ensure project completion within the set budget, schedule, and conformance with the contract documents.
  4. Plan, lead, and monitor progress and performance against the project plan while managing the day-to-day operational aspects of projects, including resource allocation, manpower planning, construction progress monitoring, preparation of master schedule, and assisting in cost control.
  5. Liaise closely with the Employer, Superintending Officer & RSS Team, Partnering Companies, Sub-contractors, and relevant authorities to resolve site issues and ensure compliance for smooth project completion.
  6. Liaise with the Employer’s safety manager in developing a site-specific safety plan.
  7. Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely project reports including work schedules, implementations, deviations, changes in subcontractors, customer issues, and other related problems.
  8. Develop a logistics plan that allows contractors to complete their work in a coordinated, efficient manner.
  9. Develop methods of construction, evaluate and assess trade contractor method statements and contract documentation for buildability, and provide suitable feedback.
  10. Establish regularly scheduled meetings with trade contractors to review shop drawing preparation/approval, equipment/material lead times and required on-site dates, manpower projections vis-a-vis the project schedule, and quality/performance issues on and off site.
  11. Comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health, and Environment related to the job scope and workplace as required by the company.
  12. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Management.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum qualification of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent qualification.
  2. Minimum 15 years relevant working experience with a Main Contractor in the Construction industry.
  3. Experience in building construction, industrial plant construction, or environmental plant (PUB / NEA) will be advantageous.
  4. Attended and passed the course “Manage Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites” / Construction Safety Course for Project Managers.
  5. Ability to prioritize tasks well and work independently.
  6. Able to work under stress and complete tasks within set deadlines.
