Roles & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Studies the repair specification to understand owner’s requirements in order to prepare a competitive quotation.
Writes out the work summary.
Attends ship inspection and or discussion / negotiate with owners representative in the yard, local or overseas when required.
Meets and discusses with sub-contractors / suppliers in order to obtain better prices.
Gets more information for additional work from Project Managers, Foremen, etc for more accurate pricing.
Consults the Company Secretary to check whether owner’s conditions of contract are acceptable or need to counter offer.
Any other related work as required (preparing of telexes, faxes and checking of the typing of the quotation, prices, etc).
Ensure the safety of personnel through compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations.
Ensure that Health, Safety & Environmental operating procedures are followed and counsel employees about compliance as necessary.
Participate in the preparation of Safe work, Environmental control and Emergency procedures.
Ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) plans are followed.
Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements:
GCE ‘O’ Level, NTC 2 certification or equivalent.
Preferred to have 3 to 5 years’ working experience in a production environment in marine industry.
Resourceful and able to work under stressful conditions.
Need to have sound technical knowledge in ship repairing work and have negotiation skills.
Knowledge of cost estimating in marine industry.
Willing to work late on weekdays, weekends and public holidays should there be urgent tender deadlines to meet.
Willing to travel overseas to inspect vessel / negotiate tender when required.
