We are looking for a dynamic and energetic team player who is keen to join our Medical Records Office as a Clinical Coder in Thomson Medical Centre.

Job Summary

The position requires accurate and timely coding of patients' clinical information in compliance with the Ministry of Health and international standards. The role involves developing, enforcing, and maintaining the necessary coding standards as per various requirements.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversee the flow of case notes requiring coding.
2. Check and code patients' conditions and care as documented.
3. Ensure coding accuracy based on patient case notes.
4. Advise on the correct use of diagnosis codes upon inquiry.
5. Adhere to ICD10AM (Australian Coding Standard) for coding.
6. Ensure compliance with clinical coding guidelines at Thomson Medical Centre.
7. Upload coded data monthly to the Ministry of Health.
8. Conduct weekly audits for annual submission to the Ministry of Health.
9. Provide timely diagnosis related group coding to Business Office for annual bill size verification.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Nursing, Health Science, or equivalent.
2. Certificate in ICD-10-AM coding preferred or at least one year of relevant medical coding experience in a local hospital.
3. Target-oriented team player with initiative and a positive work attitude.
4. Meticulous with strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ICD-10-AM coding preferred.
