Senior/ Assistant Engineer (PFR) NEL

Primary Objectives of Position

• To perform the monitoring and control operations for NEL Power Supply System & Environment Control System (ECS) via ISCS.
• Meet operational requirements by ensuring safety, reliability and availability of the system

Major Responsibilities

• To monitor closely alarms and tripping / fault occurrence and inform immediately/ and coordinate with the front-line maintenance staff to verify the fault ASAP.
• To coordinate with Traffic / front line maintenance staff periodically and perform remote / local operation function tests associated with Power and ECS installations.
• To carry out under emergency situations remote switching of ventilation system according to the Work Instructions and operation procedures.
• To carry out under emergency situations, fault or outage conditions of the remote switching of 22kV, 1500V DC or 415V installations to restore the power supply immediately.
• To develop, review and revise the WIs and associated operation procedures periodically or as and when required.
• Assist supervisor in all areas of responsibility as stipulated above
• Perform any engineering works or tasks as being assigned by supervisor
• Perform works and documentation in accordance to the ISO Quality Standards and quality procedures
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Specific Safety Responsibilities

• To enforce Departmental Work instructions and all rail related safety rules and procedures
• Responsible for the safety of departmental staff, related contractors and others working on the Electrical Distribution system and NEL OCS system in the MRT
  premises

Job Specifications

Minimum Education / Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

• Preferably with relevant working experience in maintenance of HV and DC traction power equipment
• Electrical Power System background
• Preferably Licensed Electrical Worker (Technician/Electrician Grade)

Knowledge/Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good planning and writing skills
