Reporting to the CFO, you will work in close partnership with the Alexandra Hospital (AH) leadership team and department heads as a trusted advisor for all financial matters. You will lead the AH Finance team in the formulation of financial plans (budgets and projections) and management reports, drive financial modelling and cost analytics to provide insights, and make recommendations to meet strategic and fiscal sustainability objectives.
You will ensure that statutory reporting and financial audit deliverables are met, and partner with cross-functional Risk teams to establish a robust and effective internal control framework in AH.
You will also be part of the Finance work group to plan, organize, and implement the necessary set-up activities as AH transitions to its redeveloped campus and scales in year 2028.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:
- Lead the Finance team in the monthly and year-end close financial reporting, statutory audit, and compliance responsibility.
- Lead and drive efficient and effective annual budget and projection activities with all key stakeholders, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to guide senior management teams in making informed decisions to operationalize AH strategies.
- Conduct regular process reviews and simplifications to the budget and accounting close processes, as well as reporting activities to achieve both Finance operational excellence and quality goals.
- Maintain oversight and management of subvention/capitation funding matters of AH, and partner with AH stakeholders to prepare effective case propositions and funding approval requests or their refinement, to address or alleviate AH’s sustainability concerns.
- Maintain oversight and carry out periodic reviews on the AH financial risk register, and partner with Risk teams to ensure effective internal controls and governance framework are in place in AH.
- Assist or lead in ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
- Degree in relevant Business or Finance disciplines.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience with at least 8 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Relevant working experience in healthcare, with knowledge in health finance and economics is preferred, and experience in digital transformation or digital application in business finance is an advantage.
- Strong people management skills and a track record in developing and leading effective teams through change management, and/or new set-up or reorganization.
- Strong business partnering skills and experience with cross-functional teams, senior management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Possess an agile mindset, confidence in managing ambiguity, and excellent financial modelling and data visualization skills.
- Possess in-depth financial knowledge across financial accounting, planning and analytics as well as enterprise risk management.
- Proficiency in SAP (FI-CO, MM) or S4/HANA, MS Office applications, and data visualization tools.
