General Summary:
The Senior Accountant supporting the shared service team is responsible to oversee critical accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with financial standards and regulations, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance process efficiency and standardization of processes across locations. This role involves managing closing process, general accounting matters, manages external audit and support companywide projects.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting
Support Shared service team on timely closure and ensure quality deliverables.
Manage day to day accounting activities including providing advice on journal entries, adjustments, intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Oversee maintenance of chart of accounts.
Provide financial updates and technical advice in accounting treatment for new business transactions.
SAP month-end close in relation to general ledger.
Financial statement flux analysis/review.
Shared Service Operations
Work closely with shared service team on process improvement and standardized process across locations.
Support share service team in various accounting functions, ensure smooth communication between shared service team and operation team and facilitate resolution of financial issues.
Compliance and Audit Support
Responsible for local statutory audit, ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and provide support during external audit.
Ensure smooth coordination between Shared Service Team and auditor and proper documentations provided by Shared Service team for audit review.
Liaise with corporate secretary on filing of the audited financial statement to ACRA.
Process Improvement and Optimization Project
Participate in implementation and enhancement of the ERP system and any other Company wide projects.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in accounting standards (USAAP, IFRS).
Strong knowledge in SAP and Excel.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders across multiple locations.
Preferably 3 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or Public Accounting firm.
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
2+ years of Accounting, Finance, or related work experience.
Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
