Job description

The Senior Accountant will support the Financial Controller in managing the financial operations of the group and involve working with professionals from across departments and geographies. This role will be responsible for the finance activities including daily accounting operations, month-end and year-end closing process, statutory audit and managing overseas subsidiaries as well as tax matters. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and accounting records in line with corporate guidelines, corporate timelines and local statutory requirements.

2. Manage the full spectrum of the accounting functions, including accounts payables, accounts receivables, balance sheet schedules, general ledger maintenance, and cash flow management.

3. Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring proper accounting treatment, completeness, and accuracy of financial transactions.

4. Involve in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and analysis of financial information.

5. Manage the full-cycle expense claim process, including reviewing invoices, validating expense claims, and preparing bank transactions.

6. Assist in the preparation of the quarterly GST report and review of annual tax returns.

7. Coordinate and liaise with external parties (e.g. banks, external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities) to ensure smooth operations.

8. Assist in overseeing the operational financial duties for subsidiaries, including management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

9. Collaborate across departments in preparing and managing the OPEX budgets.

10. Identify and implement process improvements in internal accounting and financial operations efficiency.

11. Support the finance team on ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

12. Partner with business units and regional team to provide finance-related advice.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

· Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in finance, with at least 2 years in an international environment.

· Knowledge of Direct and Indirect tax.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization.

· Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

· Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to facilitate communication with Chinese associates.

· Prior experience in accounting firms is an added advantage.
