About the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)

The role of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is to advance the interests of Australia and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s prosperity, delivering an effective and high-quality overseas aid program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas.

About the position

The Security and Risk Assessment Manager manages security services at the Australian High Commission (AHC) Chancery, the High Commissioner’s Official Residence and Australia-based staff residences, in accordance with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Security Framework.

The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the High Commission’s contracted guarding service contract, including liaison with the service provider’s Site Supervisor and Senior Management.
  • Manage, monitor and maintain the High Commission’s access control system and produce reports for Post Management.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Australian government National Security Clearance at NV1 or above.
  • Experience in a security-related field or risk assessment is desirable but not essential.
