Job Summary:

The Section Finance Manager will support the General Manager in financial management of our Asia Regional Headquarters. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective communication between the regional office and our Tokyo Headquarters.

(A) Essential Job Functions:

The Section Finance Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee and manage all financial reporting for the Asia Regional Headquarters. Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and monthly reports for submission to Tokyo Headquarters, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Regional Financial Support: Provide strategic financial advice and insights to the Asia regional management team to support business operations, project financing, and profitability analysis. Assist in the evaluation of new business opportunities and investment decisions within the region.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments including project management, operations, and human resources, ensuring proper financial controls, cost management, and financial forecasting for ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
  • Japanese Headquarters Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between the Asia Regional Headquarters and Tokyo Headquarters for all financial matters. Ensure that all financial reports, queries, and communications are clear, accurate, and meet Tokyo’s expectations.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial policies, regulations, and corporate governance standards across the region. Identify potential financial risks, provide risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with all local and international financial regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making across the Asia region.

(B) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance.
  • More than 3 years of experience in financial analysis based on IFRS, GAAP and J-GAAP to handle financial statements, taxation and audit in construction industry.
  • More than 3 years of experience in financial analysis and Risk Analysis in the construction such as Oceania (Australia, and New Zealand) and Southeast Asian countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam) as a manager and above, being responsible for liaising with Japan HQ.
  • Proven experience in financial management and reporting for regional or multinational organizations.
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N1) is required to ensure effective communication with Tokyo Headquarters and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, project financing, and reporting processes in the construction industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
