Sales Trainee

The Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group is a major international distributor and stockist of steel pipes, fittings and flanges. Its offices can be found throughout Europe, the Middle East, North America, South-East Asia, China and Australia.

From our regional head office in Singapore and affiliated companies in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China and the Middle East, we service a wide range of customers in the oil & gas, (petro-)chemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, (renewable) power generation, offshore/marine, and construction industries.

Due to the growth of our business in the Asia-Pacific region, there currently exists an excellent opportunity for:

Sales Trainee

The successful candidate will follow a program of in-house training. He/She will be trained in commercial skills. If proven, the candidate will have future opportunities within the regional office or overseas posting to our offices in Asia-Pacific.

Requirements:

• You have graduated with a Diploma or Degree in Business / Commerce / Chemicals / Engineering.
• 2-3 years experience in commercial sales would be an advantage.
• Proven interest in trading and/or sales coupled with a drive for success and continuous improvement.
• You are flexible with regard to overseas assignments.
• You combine practical understanding with strong business acumen and good analytical and conceptual skills.
• You appreciate working within a fast-paced and changeable environment and you integrate well into a team setting.
• Your high drive is evident from your accomplishments and you demonstrate a persistent and proactive approach to challenges ahead.
• Your communication is clear and concise, including appropriate adaptation to cultural diversity.
• You show high awareness of your strengths and development opportunities, seek feedback, and actively work towards advancing your competence.
• You are looking for an international career both now and in the years to come.
• You are fluent in both spoken and written English.
• An additional language (e.g., Chinese, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Arabic) is preferred.
