Job description

Job Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities are to increase sales of existing accounts, establish new sales accounts, promote the Company’s products and services, and effectively meet the Company’s set annual sales targets.

  1. Development of Sales Opportunities via Existing Accounts
  • You are responsible for generating new sales by nurturing and developing existing customer accounts.
  • You are to seek opportunities to recommend new products and services by evaluating customer applications, current product results, and identifying present and future needs.
  • You are to develop an effective sales pipeline to facilitate higher visibility of sales leads, allocate sufficient and efficient sales efforts to convert leads to sales, and better forecast sales potential.
  • You are to nurture existing business relationships to ensure continuous growth and consistently provide professional account management to clients to maximize overall revenue in the long run.
  • You are to serve as the day-to-day point of contact for customers, promote our Company’s products/solutions, maintain client satisfaction, and upsell and cross-sell when appropriate.

2. Customer Acquisition Strategy

  • You are responsible for sourcing new sales accounts.
  • You are to plan and identify new channels to generate new leads that result in bringing in new sales accounts.
  • You are to cold call by conducting telemarketing, door-to-door sales, and deploying digital marketing activities as part of your sales efforts to continually develop new sales leads.

3. Turning Competitor Accounts Into Your Own

  • You are to research and survey customer needs and identify competitor presence.
  • You are to perform incisive and insightful market research, consistently track and remain sensitive to fluctuations in market demand and supply, pricing, and changes in sales strategies.
  • You are to track and seek opportunities to eliminate competition.
  • You are to develop effective strategies to overcome competition and convert competitor accounts into your own.

4. Pre & Post Sales Activities

  • You are to follow up and follow through on sales leads expediently. This includes but is not limited to preparing sales proposals, quotations, tender documents, presentations, and product/application demonstrations.
  • You are to keep track, monitor, and review customer back orders and keep your customers updated.
  • You are to submit weekly sales activity reports to your HOD to account for your time, sales efforts, and review your pipeline sales strategy.
  • You are to analyze your accounts' purchase history, buying trends, and behavior.
  • You are to work with other team members/function groups to meet customers’ expectations of reliable service.
  • You are to conduct application training or product demonstrations for your customers and their employees when required.
  • You are to provide the Marketing Department with customer details for marketing purposes.
  • You are responsible for the collection of accounts receivables from your customer accounts.

5. Corporate Sales & Marketing Strategy

  • You will align with corporate marketing strategies and work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to execute corporate marketing initiatives and sales campaigns.
  • You will participate in trade events or any events that the Company is promoting its products/services. These may be local or overseas and extend into non-work days/hours.
  • You are to gather and provide feedback on competitor and customer data for sales and marketing analysis, create awareness of industry/market trends, competitor activities, and product competitiveness.
  • You are to carry out market research and customer surveys.
  • You are to liaise and attend meetings or networking sessions as necessary to aid business and organizational development.
  • You are required to invest time and effort to self-learn products/applications and/or attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in outdoor or field sales.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • A valid driver’s license is a bonus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
