Job Description

Overall Responsibility:

The Technical Sales Engineer's primary responsibility is to achieve or exceed the sales revenues set by the company. This includes developing new customers while maintaining good relationships with existing customers and maximizing profitability in preparing costing prior to quoting to customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Solicit sales of M&D products and services in the assigned market and customers, including the final collection of any monies owed to the company.
  2. Develop new accounts and grow the market share of existing customers.
  3. Formulate sales strategies to meet the company's growth direction and plan for annual sales revenues.
  4. Regularly report sales activities and market intelligence to the immediate supervisor regarding customer and competitor movements.
  5. Handle customer issues related to technical specifications, quality, and delivery diligently, providing feedback to management and/or suppliers for immediate action when necessary.
  6. Work closely with production and quality control teams, as well as customers, to bridge understanding in manufacturing capabilities, production costing, and delivery issues.
  7. Provide technical support/design advice and costing to other Account Managers when necessary.
  8. Be adaptable to changes in job responsibilities as determined by the company.
