Safety Officer
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and revise the Safety Management System for continual improvement.
- Review, establish and upkeep the Safe Work Procedure and Risk Assessment for the main contractor, subcontractor and suppliers.
- Conduct safety training related to the activity based on Safe Work Procedure / Risk Assessment.
- Ensure risk assessments for all work activities are conducted and propose recommendations; review them when necessary.
- Conduct monthly WSH Committee Meetings and put up safety reports including safety indices.
- Conduct monthly Mass Toolbox Meetings and participate in the Daily Toolbox meeting.
- Enforce house rules on all stakeholders and take action when necessary for non-compliance.
- Work closely with the project team to eliminate security, safety, health and environmental hazards.
- Establish, review, update and improve Workplace Safety and Health procedures, measures and policies in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Ensure legal compliance to all statutory safety and environmental regulations and timely submission of mandatory documents.
- Monitor, update and improve the company’s Bizsafe, safety management system, safety manual, and clients’ safety procedures.
- Conduct investigations of WSH infringements and industrial accidents and recommend remedial actions.
- Facilitate and conduct internal auditing to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Responsible for all incidents reporting and investigation.
- Lead and manage emergency situations and project safety personnel.
- Lead and manage site WSH matters for both the company and subcontractors.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the security operations.
- Guide and train the Site Emergency Response Team (SERT) and organize drills.
- Conduct safety-related training for the staff and sub-contractors including foreign workers.
- Oversee the management of the company’s fire alarm and protection systems, emergency response equipment, and security systems.
- Audit equipment, machinery, and assets regularly to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Implement safety campaigns to promote and inculcate a safety culture.
- Liaise with MOM, NEA, PUB, and other relevant authorities on all WSH issues.
- Any related ad-hoc duties or assignments as instructed by the Management.
Key Requirements:
- Need to be able to speak in Mandarin to interact with the site workers.
- Minimum 3 years experience.
