Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review and revise the Safety Management System for continual improvement.
2. Review, establish and upkeep the Safe Work Procedure and Risk Assessment for the main contractor, subcontractor and suppliers.
3. Conduct safety training related to the activity based on Safe Work Procedure / Risk Assessment. Ensure risk assessments for all work activities are conducted and propose recommendations; review them when necessary.
4. Conduct monthly WSH Committee Meeting and put up safety reports including safety indices.
5. Conduct monthly Mass Toolbox Meeting and participate in the Daily Toolbox meeting.
6. Enforce house rules on all stakeholders and take action when necessary for non-compliance. Work closely with the project team to eliminate security, safety, health and environment hazards.
7. Establish, review, update and improve Workplace Safety and Health procedures, measures and policies in accordance with statutory requirements.
8. Ensure legal compliance to all statutory safety and environmental regulations and timely submission of mandatory documents.
9. Monitor, update and improve company’s Bizsafe, safety management system, safety manual, clients’ safety procedure etc.
10. Conduct investigations of WSH infringements and industrial accidents and recommend remedial actions.
11. Facilitate and conduct internal auditing to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
12. Responsible for all incidents reporting and investigation. Lead and manage emergency situations and the project safety personnel.
13. Lead and manage site WSH matters for both the company and subcontractors. Supervise and provide guidance to the security operations.
14. Guide and train the Site Emergency Response Team (SERT) and organize drills.
15. Conduct safety-related training for the staff and sub-contractors including foreign workers.
16. Oversee the management of company’s fire alarm and protection systems, emergency response equipment as well as security systems.
17. Audit equipment, machinery and assets regularly to ensure that they are in good working condition and that machinery is purchased for use. Implement safety campaigns to promote and inculcate safety culture.
18. Liaise with MOM, NEA, PUB and other relevant authorities on all WSH issues.
19. Any related ad-hoc duties or assignments as instructed by the Management.

Key Requirements:

1. Need to be able to speak in Mandarin to interact with the site workers.
2. Minimum 3 years experience.
