SAFETY OFFICER

Responsibilities

1. Reporting to the Project Manager, plan and advise management on accident prevention, safe work methods, and legal requirements affecting safety and health.
2. Deploy Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) programmes.
3. Ensure that all safety compliance and processes are adhered to by all workers.
4. Assist in managing and monitoring site operations, workers, and subcontractors.
5. Able to communicate to all levels and attend daily site meetings.
6. Coordinate the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
7. Conduct safety committee meetings and safety audits for management reporting.
8. Ensure and conduct periodic toolbox meetings.
9. Establish quality safety management policies and procedures.
10. Ensure Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is applied on site at all times.
11. Responsible for effective site administration, which includes site safety and control of materials on site.
12. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager/Superior.
13. Implement OSH management.
14. Manage Safety Audits on site.

Requirements

1. At least 5 years of working experience in the building or civil construction industry, preferably in HDB & LTA.
2. Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Health, Safety) or equivalent.
3. Self-driven and able to work within tight deadlines and shift work, if required.
4. A team player who is hands-on and meticulous in his work.
5. MOM registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer and possess ECO certificate.
6. Good working knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
7. Familiar with construction site safety inspections and regulations.
8. Successful candidates should be dynamic, self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
9. Good interpersonal skills, excellent team spirit, and strong technical competence.
