Safety Coordinator / Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections
• Conduct briefings to workers on safety regulations
• Implement effective safety management systems
• Coordinate with subcontractors to resolve all matters on safety
• Assist with job safety analysis and safe work procedures
• Provide supervision and ensure site workers abide by safety regulations
• Coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices
• Train and support personnel on safety projects and resources
• Assist in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk control measures at the workplace
• Ensure proper documentation for all safety, environmental, and health disciplines
• Ensure compliance of operations with Workplace Safety and Health/Environmental Control regulations and statutory requirements
• Follow up on committee site walk inspection findings for WSH Officer to close reports and assist WSH Officer in incident/accident investigations
• Responsible for ensuring daily checklists are properly documented and conducting mass toolbox meetings/workshops once a week
• Coordinate with relevant site in-charges to improve worksite safety and cleanliness
• Ensure supervisors and workers comply with safe work procedures
• Assist WSHO in organizing monthly Safety Committee meetings and preparing safety reports, including safety issues
• Compile all relevant reports and records and carry out daily safety inspections
• Submit reports and other related documents to WSHO
• Supervise all workers in providing safety measures and procedures in accordance with MOM Regulations
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by WSHO

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role
• With Class 2B or Class 3 driving license
• Possess a Certificate in Safety Coordinators Course from approved institutes
• Possess WAH relevant certificates, Confined Space Assessor, BCSS & PSM from SP Group
• Minimum 2 years of post-relevant experience in the Building and Construction Industry
• Proactive with excellent interpersonal skills and analytical ability
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Must possess pipe laying and/or fibre laying experience
• Basic MS skills required (MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
• Outstanding organizational skills

• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
