Job description

Job Purpose

To provide technical and professional safety assistance to the site construction management and minimize the risk of job-related accidents. You will monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities and regularly train and brief to new and existing employee on safety awareness.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform job site analysis, determine employee exposure, and institute safe work procedures.
  • Responsible for identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.
  • Conduct Safety Orientation training to new employees about emergency response, safety policies, safety work procedures and practices as well as prevailing laws and regulations.
  • Conduct accident/incidents investigations and write report on all incident/accident happened at the internal or external (client/customer) sites.
  • Conduct operation site safety meeting / toolbox meeting.
  • Documentation/permit to work preparation to the relevant customer/client.
  • Ensure compliance to WSH Acts and regulations.
  • Responsible on the preparation/maintenance of the WSH/Risk Assessment record.
  • Liaise closely with site operations staff and Project Manager on all safety issues.
  • Advice and update on all matters pertaining to Work Safety and Health.
  • Knowledge of modern safety principles, practices, and methods, the applicable occupational health and safety laws, rules, and regulations, and the determinants of working hazards or working conditions which are injurious to the health or safety of employees.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with operational crews and main contractor.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Min. Diploma holder in any discipline.
  • Possess Advance Certificate on Workplace Safety & Health.
  • Possess Risk Assessment Certificate.
  • Computer literacy in word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Good communication, reading and writing skills.
  • A good leader and quick decision maker.
  • Basic knowledge in first aid.

Working Conditions

  • 5.25 Working days per week
  • May require to conduct site survey and to work out of the normal working hours.
