Job description

Job Description

  1. Conduct daily inspection and act on non-compliances to EHS standards and conditions.
  2. Training and monitoring of workers' performance on safe work practices.
  3. Maintain and monitor EHS records, documentation, and checklists.
  4. Monitor the conduct of daily toolbox meetings and risk-impact assessment briefings.
  5. Act as safety assessors in assessing and inspecting work areas for high-risk construction work activities. Commencement of work under the Permit-To-Work system and as per requirements from WSH (Construction) Regulations for safety assessors.
  6. Make recommendations to trade supervisors/Permit-To-Work applicants to rectify or improve prior to the commencement of work activities.
  7. Endorse the Permit-To-Work system upon safety assessing and compliance with EHS requirements for safe work commencement.
  8. Assist in reviewing and advising in the formulation of risk-impact assessments.
  9. Monitor WSH performance and compliance with risk-impact assessments.
  10. Authorize the suspension of any work operation in the project due to unsafe conditions or unsafe acts/behaviors, including directing the work of improvement action plans and/or initiating disciplinary actions after conclusion with the Project EHS Manager/Officers.
  11. Ensure that all EHS matters pertaining to construction and work of engineering activities are complied with.
  12. Promote and enforce EHS awareness among fellow employees and other site personnel.
  13. Participate in all EHS activities organized by Shun Yi Cheng Contract Engineering Pte Ltd.
  14. Follow up with all recommendations in the interest of EHS matters.

Job Requirements

  1. Possess a Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator certificate (SCTC or Advance Certificate in WSH) from an approved MOM training provider.
  2. Possess a Work at Height Course for Assessor or equivalent certificate from MOM approved training provider.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  4. Knowledge and experience in handling site and administration work regarding EHS matters.
  5. Knowledgeable in Singapore Workplace Safety and Health Legislations and Regulations.
