Overview
The contract Supply Assurance Buyer is to help to maximize how the company does business by sourcing and placing orders for goods and services needed in support of APAC Bio-Rad sites and managing supplier relationships to optimize supply chain efficiency. Sources, prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods and supplies needed to support the business.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Work on Procurement and Purchasing scope of work.
- Source and negotiate key services and supplies at regional level and performing tactical / transactional tasks; issues services purchase orders to support business needs.
- Identify and resolve potential supplier problems. Works with appropriate parties to resolve invoice issues to minimize overdue invoices. Ensures services are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Actively manage workflow in SAP.
- Introduce and manage efficiencies through effective purchasing.
- Participate in supplier audits and business reviews. Manage supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development, capacity management and cost/quality improvements for high impact suppliers.
- Monitor cost and supplier performance.
- Maintain files and records related to purchasing activities.
- Apply company system and processes to on-board new vendors.
- Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
- General supervision. Receive work instructions from supervisor including quality and quantity expected and deadline.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration or related discipline.
- Coursework towards CPM and/or CPIM certification is preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience expediting and issuing purchase orders a plus.
- Professional level in English and in a second foreign language.
- Basic knowledge and application of the principles and theories of purchasing & sourcing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
- Good oral and written communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills with good organizational skills.
