Job Summary:

A Retail Manager oversees the daily operations of a retail store, ensuring optimal customer service, efficient store management, and achievement of sales targets. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, managing inventory, implementing merchandising strategies, and handling customer inquiries and complaints. The role also involves analyzing sales data, developing promotional strategies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Effective leadership, strong organizational skills, and a focus on customer satisfaction are crucial for success in this position.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Target Achievement:
    - Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and meet monthly and annual sales targets.
    - Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and adjust strategies accordingly to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
    - Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, cross-selling, and promotional activities.
    - Be hands-on on the retail floor and proactively look for opportunities for the growth and development of the retail scene in Singapore.
    - Ensure smooth setup of atrium sales in Singapore.
  2. Customer Experience and Service:
    - Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained consistently.
    - Train and develop staff on product knowledge, selling techniques, and customer service skills.
    - Resolve customer complaints promptly and ensure customer satisfaction.
    - Collect customer feedback and implement improvements based on their input.
  3. Product Management:
    - Responsible for ensuring that the store has sufficient inventory, maintaining the correct levels of stocks and ordering new products when necessary.
    - Stay updated with industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to adjust product assortment accordingly.
    - Work closely with suppliers to maintain strong relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and optimize product pricing.
  4. Team Management:
    - Recruit, train, and motivate a team of sales associates to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
    - Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to maximize individual and team productivity.
    - Schedule staff effectively to ensure adequate coverage during peak times and manage absence or labor issues.
  5. Visual Merchandising and Store Operations:
    - Ensure the store is visually appealing, clean, and organized at all times.
    - Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to create eye-catching displays that highlight featured products.
    - Monitor and control operating costs, including staffing, utilities, and maintenance.
    - Adhere to company policies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    - Lead and take a proactive role in project executions including store incentives and other retail specific projects when required.
  6. Marketing and Promotions:
    - Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective promotional and marketing campaigns.
    - Utilize social media, email marketing, and other channels to create awareness and drive customer traffic.
    - Analyze marketing campaign results and make recommendations for improvements.
  7. People Management:
    - Be a People Manager responsible for the management of Retail Associates.
    - Responsible for manpower planning for every store within your own territory.
    - Responsible for training, supervising and scheduling employees, as well as managing their performance and handling employee-related issues.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a retail manager or similar role in the bed linen and home products industry.
- Strong knowledge of bed linen and home products, including materials, trends, and customer preferences.
- Exceptional customer service and sales skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in using retail management software and computer systems.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays as required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
