Job description

KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) is an 830-bed tertiary hospital that provides obstetric, gynaecological, paediatric and other clinical services. It is part of the SingHealth group of public healthcare hospitals. As an academic medical centre, KKH has well-established links to three medical schools in Singapore, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

The focus of the posting will be assisting in the operations of a large fertility centre. The resident physician will have opportunity to learn aspects of Women’s Health as listed below:

  • Basic evaluation and management of couples with infertility
  • Exposure to Contraception clinic
  • Exposure to Menopause services
  • Exposure to Sexual Health clinic
  • Exposure to Polycystic Ovary Disease clinic.

This position is a 5-day work week with 2 alternate half days on rostered Saturdays and no night call duties.

Job Responsibilities

  • To perform at the same level of duties and responsibilities of a Medical Officer. Their competence will be individually assessed by the Head of Department (HOD) and thereby given clinical duties accordingly.
  • Assist in monitoring and management of patients coming for fertility treatment.
  • Discharge patients post IVF procedures.
  • Perform IUI procedures as assigned.
  • Engage in departmental meetings, case presentations and journal clubs.
  • To write medical reports. Urgent reports should be prepared within a week and non-urgent reports within two weeks.
  • To assist the Senior Medical Staff in the running of Specialist Outpatient Clinics.
  • To perform any other medical duties as directed by the senior medical staff and be prepared to cover the duties of junior doctors when the need arises.

Job Requirements

  • MBBS or post graduate qualification recognised by Singapore Medical Council;
  • At least 1 year of Medical Officer experience;
  • Highly adaptive and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
