To ensure that the contractor co-ordinates the works of various contractors.
To agree to detailed programmes of work-time chart and representation of site plans.
To check that all necessary drawings and instruction have been given to contractors and authorization obtained, in accordance with the agreed programme.
To check that materials are ordered in good time and permits obtained.
To check that all construction works are carried out in a safe manner, and that the site is kept secure.
To watch for faulty workmanship and materials incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectification.
To check and line and level of layout of structure during erection and that intentions of "contract" drawings are adhered to.
To check structural slab, beam and column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of designs are followed.
Requirements:
Recognised Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with valid RE Accreditation Certificate from IES.
Must have at least 5 yrs of post graduate experience respectively in supervising building projects. Applicants with both design and supervision experience as R.E. will be favourably considered.
Fully conversant with Building Contract Act and Regulations. Able to administer contracts professionally, maintain site records and contract documents systematically, to meet reporting requirements under Building Control Act.
Extensive experience in the supervision of bored pile systems, precast concrete, and structural steel construction.
Experience with canal/drainage construction will be favourably considered.
