Resident Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of construction projects on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Supervise construction activities, including site preparation, excavation, structural works, and finishing, to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues, address changes, and ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to verify workmanship and materials meet project requirements.
• Review and approve construction drawings and material submissions in accordance with project specifications.
• Monitor progress and performance against project schedules, budgets, and milestones, and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
• Manage and resolve any disputes, conflicts, or claims that may arise during the construction process.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other project team members to resolve design-related issues and ensure constructability.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, inspectors, and site staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations on-site and promote a culture of safety among project personnel.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional licensure is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in construction management or resident engineering roles, preferably in infrastructure or building projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Experience with construction management software and tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
• Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from inception to completion.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required to meet project needs.
