Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join Life Science Institute – Healthy Longevity programme. The successful candidate will work with Professor Brian Kennedy to conduct interdisciplinary research in healthy longevity science. The candidate will need to apply knowledge in various areas (e.g. basic science, public health, social sciences, data analyses, business) to design, conduct, present and translate research findings into practice. The candidate will also get the opportunities to develop their own research ideas, screen and apply for funding, and collaborate with experts both within and outside the institute. Ultimately, the candidate will work with the team to advance the field of Healthy Longevity research in Singapore and globally.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct interdisciplinary research projects in the field of healthy longevity science, which include collaborations with public-private partners and the general public.
- Analyse and present research data in both textual and visual formats for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with faculty researchers to identify research with high public interest and translate scientific concepts into accessible content.
- Identify new opportunities for collaboration and funding both within the institute and with external partners.
- Assist the PI in grant management, including screening for potential funding, preparing research proposals, preparing and finalizing collaborative agreements, monitoring grant progress and milestones, tracking expenditures, and evaluating grant outcomes and impact.
- Assist in training junior research staff and students.
- Assist in developing and implementing a strategic plan to expand the reach of HLTRP research through diverse communication channels.
- Support the organisation of research-related events, e.g. lab meetings, research seminars, symposiums, conferences, etc.
Qualifications
- PhD in biomedical science or related disciplines.
- Solid knowledge and research experience in health science research with a proven track record, e.g. conference presentations and publications.
- Experience in interdisciplinary research is preferred.
- Experience in preparing grant proposals and managing grants.
- Experience in scientific communication and stakeholder management.
- Strong passion for healthy longevity science.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative and self-driven.
- Highly adaptive and creative.
