Job Summary

Professor Allen Yeoh’s research focuses on childhood leukaemia, with a particular emphasis on translational clinical research in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Research Assistant/ Associate to support ongoing wet lab research activities related to basic T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) biology as well as translational work related to immunotherapy in the lab located at Cancer Science Institute (CSI).

The candidate will work on projects headed by Dr Tan Shi Hao, Senior Research Scientist in the lab. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research related to immunotherapy with potential for career development and growth in a dynamic research environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research:

  • Perform daily basic molecular biology experiments related to DNA, RNA, protein and cell culture work.
  • Derive and work on primary Patient Derived Xenografts (PDXs) mice models including tail vein injection, tumour monitoring via flow cytometry and tumour harvesting
  • Support the chimeric antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cell research and assist in developing innovative immunotherapy approaches under Prof Yeoh's guidance.

Data Management & Analysis:

  • Maintain meticulous records of research data and analyse results using statistical software.
  • Assist in the preparation of research publications, reports, and presentations.

General Support:

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams, including clinicians, scientists, and external partners.
  • Provide administrative support in grant applications, ethics board submissions, and meeting coordination.

Requirements

  • At least Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’sdegree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline
  • Able to work independently and in a team as well, self-motivated with initiative and keen to learn new techniques
  • Previous experience in laboratory work, particularly in oncology or haematology, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in working with mice models and techniques including tail vein injection, blood processing
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (e.g., Western Blot, qPCR, cell culture).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team
