Job description

The Lien Centre for Palliative Care (“LCPC”) in Duke-NUS Medical School aims to be the premier palliative care research and educational centre in the region. With generous support from the Lien Foundation, strategic collaborations with the National Cancer Centre Singapore and the broader SingHealth institutes within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, LCPC is poised for significant growth in the coming years.

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Research Assistant / Research Associate to join our team. This is a full-time position, and we are seeking candidates with either a nursing background who want to work in research or current/prospective part time students studying to get their Master of Public Health or those with a degree in Public Health or a related field. Both entry-level candidates and those with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will perform responsibilities including but not limited to:-

  • Recruit participants for research studies.
  • Conduct data collection, including both qualitative and quantitative interviews, and ensure the data is accurate and complete.
  • Coordinate appointments with collaborators and team members.
  • Assist with research project management, including coordinating team meetings and maintaining project timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of study materials, including data collection forms, consent forms, and study protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or other related field.
  • Have experience/interest in conducting survey interviews.
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin/Malay to conduct interviews with the participants of research study.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Have an understanding of ethical and regulatory issues related to research involving human subjects.
  • Candidates with prior experience in nursing and a passion for research are encouraged to apply. Current students studying Master in Public Health may also be considered.
