Job Description

A Research Assistant position is required for Stephen Chong and Kong Li Ren's team, which studies drug resistance mechanisms and molecular biology in cancers. This job recruitment is required to assist in managing ongoing research projects. This role will provide much-needed support to ensure the research group's ongoing projects will move forward more efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Able to perform wet lab experiments independently with initial guidance.
  • Able to handle basic molecular techniques such as cell culture, western blotting, and RT-PCR.
  • Design and set up experimental workflow, reagents, and tools.
  • Analyze, record, and present data from assigned experiments.
  • Able to assist in ad hoc duties in the lab, which include supervising undergraduate students and handling administrative work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in molecular biology, cancer biology, or related field.
  • Experience in running projects independently is preferred.
  • Knowledge in cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques (western blotting, RT-PCR, and flow cytometry).
  • To be a team player with the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the lab.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
