The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the role of Research Assistant/Research Associate with the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HRPC is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the NUS, to spearhead and conduct research and development to better enable the future challenges arising from rising ambient heat. Appointments will be made on a two-year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.
The Research Assistant/Associate will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing the challenges of training and operating in rising ambient temperatures. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise and thermal physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to not only develop your expertise in research planning and execution, but also to be a part of the team looking to generate fundamental and forward-looking solutions to working in the heat. There are also opportunities to pursue a part-time PhD with HRPC.
The main areas of responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to the following:
A minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Physiology, or equivalent. Candidates with strong data science and analytics background and keen to delve into heat health research are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in statistics, data analysis and visualization software (e.g. SPSS, Power BI), and computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, data management and online meeting tools) is required.
