About the role
As the Research and Development Chef at Tan Ser Seng Herbs (Turtle) Restaurant Pte Ltd, you will be responsible for creating innovative and delicious food products that align with the company's vision of promoting traditional Singaporean cuisine. In this full-time role, you will be based in the Geylang Central region and play a vital role in the company's food technology and safety efforts.
What you'll be doing
Develop and test new recipes that showcase the unique flavours and ingredients of Singaporean cuisine
Collaborate with the culinary team to refine and optimise existing dishes
Ensure all food products meet strict safety and quality standards
Conduct research on food trends, ingredients and preparation techniques to stay ahead of the curve
Document and maintain detailed records of all R&D activities
Provide training and support to the kitchen staff to ensure consistent execution of new dishes
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience as a research and development chef, preferably in the food service industry
Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Passion for Singaporean cuisine and a desire to preserve traditional cooking methods
