Our client is an asset management firm with an AUM of 1.5 billion equity fund. They provide good employee benefits and company culture. They are looking to hire a research analyst/assistant portfolio manager. The position is responsible for generating quality investment ideas and tracking portfolio companies, assisting the Portfolio Manager in managing the portfolio in his absence, and managing all trading activities for the Equity portfolio on a daily basis while assisting the fixed income trading when the Fixed Income PM is on Compliance leave.

Job Description
Analyze and recommend companies for investment from the assigned industries and any other investable company.
Prepare investment notes on companies and track companies and industries.
Understand companies' positioning, business potential, and possible threats for investment recommendations and buy/sell decisions.
Identify good businesses/companies eligible for re-rating.
Communicate investment philosophy and match investor expectations by beating the market.
Manage the portfolio under the guidance of the Portfolio Manager where necessary.
Ensure adherence to investment policies.
Implement trades regularly as per the requirements of the portfolio using the system.
Assist in answering any investor queries related to the portfolio/Macro.
Prepare investor reporting material wherever required for different funds (Monthly, Quarterly, and ad hoc).
Prepare internal presentations for fund discussions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, banking, or a finance-related field.
Ideally 1 year of experience in fund administration, audit, or a similar role.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, VBA, Word, Outlook).
Understanding of securities such as equities, bonds, forwards, futures, and options preferred.
Ability to work well independently as well as within a team framework.
Enthusiastic and eager to learn, self-starter.
Strong work ethic with a positive attitude.
Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
