Renewables Development Lead

Role Summary

Flo invests in and actively manages a range of renewable energy assets in Singapore. We want to scale our investments in renewable projects in Singapore and across the region and build a team of professionals driving this. Our current established coverage is in Singapore and rooftop solar only, but we are keen to expand quickly with a portfolio that includes demand response services. You will work closely with the Portfolio Management Team. You are expected to build the team and business and champion Flo’s culture and team spirit.

What you will be doing:

1. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the investment and operation of renewable energy assets, including solar, and demand response (often enabled by large-scale batteries), as well as supporting the optimisation of our environmental certificates business.
2. Drive the investment strategy and oversee the operations of renewable energy assets, including solar and demand response, while contributing to the growth of Flo’s environmental certificates business.
3. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand Flo's renewable energy asset portfolio.
4. Manage asset P&L, ensuring financial performance and maximising returns on investment.
5. Lead your team (2-5 FTE) in managing the entire sales pipeline, covering in-house lead generation, business development, feasibility analysis, and client proposal preparation.
6. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate potential investment opportunities brought through third-party channels.
7. Supervise project development and monitor asset performance to ensure efficient and effective operation.
8. Partner with the Portfolio Management Team to enhance the sourcing of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and identify energy offtake opportunities.
9. Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team of project managers and business development experts.
10. Foster relationships with regulatory bodies, EPC partners, and vendors.
11. Collaborate with Flo’s technology team to design development plans and update the product roadmap, ensuring the business has appropriate technological support.
12. Serve as the market leader for Flo’s renewable energy business in Singapore, spearheading large sales initiatives and securing high-value deals.

You will be a good candidate if you have:

1. MBA or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Over 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with proven leadership and P&L management experience.
3. Strong track record in business development, financial oversight, and operations.
4. Understanding of regulatory frameworks and policies related to renewable energy.
5. Excellent analytical and planning abilities, coupled with an entrepreneurial mindset.
