Our client is a Japanese food manufacturing company. This position is pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for the diverse range of products, including functional ingredients, probiotics, peptides, pet foods/supplements, and infant nutrition. You will be responsible for APAC countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, India, Philippines, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance for company products in B2B markets and develop strategies to achieve product registrations and business goals in the APAC region.
- Maintain familiarity with the company's product range and ensure all regulatory standards are met.
- Act as a representative to professional associations, regulatory agencies, and during government inspections.
- Liaise and negotiate with relevant regulatory authorities to ensure smooth approvals.
- Collaborate with the sales team, HQ in Japan, and other global company entities (US, EU, Asia) for cross-functional projects.
- Respond to customer requests by coordinating with key contacts at the company HQ in Japan for necessary data and reports.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes in APAC.
- Influence regulatory changes that impact the company's business and contribute to opinion-making within industry organizations.
- Provide regulatory training for employees to ensure awareness of new policies and updates.
- Visit customers with the sales team to explain relevant regulatory frameworks and attend trade shows and industry meetings.
- Review and approve marketing and sales materials for the company's products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements & Preferences:
Must:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food, Nutrition-related areas from a reputable university
- At least 3-5 years of Regulatory Affairs within the Food industry
- Knowledge of APAC country's regulatory affairs, including Singapore
- Technical ability to independently design and execute regulatory projects and comfortable to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and network skills to engage in building networks with trade and regulatory associations
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulation
- Willing to travel to APAC countries, when required
Advantageous:
- Master's in jurisprudence in Global Food Law would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in Greater China, Korea, and Japan is a plus.
- Experience working in probiotics ingredients supplier/company
- Commercially savvy and marketing-oriented preferred
- Ability to join within 1 month or short notice
