Regional Risk Partner

The purpose of this role is to act as the 1st line of defense for risk identification and mitigation for QBE's companies, collaborating with business leaders to implement the risk management framework. The role will liaise with the 2nd line of defense ERM teams to ensure compliance responsibilities are met and support the preparation of reports for board meetings and compliance matters. Additionally, the role will manage the Assurance team within the function, focusing on improving risk management practices.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess business risks effectively.
2. Manage the Controls assurance program to align with strategic objectives.
3. Provide feedback to raise potential issues or risks promptly.
4. Lead system improvements to enhance audit tool usage.
5. Support control testers to ensure appropriate conclusions are reached.
6. Assist in delivering a functional-wide risk management strategy.
7. Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
8. Conduct effective control and issue reviews with the team.
9. Support offshore team members in delivering value-adding outcomes.
10. Act as the main escalation point between the offshore team and onshore management.

Requirements:

1. Experience in a similar role in Industry or an accounting firm.
2. Experience in an internal or external audit environment.
3. Experience working across various finance functions.
4. Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Relevant professional qualifications in finance, financial analysis or equivalent.
