Position

The Christian Dior Merchandising role is responsible for defining and coordinating the Men’s category strategies with Paris HQ, regional markets, and boutiques, focusing on product launches, development, distribution, and sales initiatives. You will drive the success of the Men’s category in South Asia, ensuring the maximization of sales and profitability.

This role requires a strong understanding of market trends and a passion for maintaining the brand’s luxury reputation.

Job Responsibilities

Buying Function

  1. Develop and present merchandising strategies for the region to Paris HQ and markets
  2. Define the product mix of the category of each market
  3. Prepare seasonal open-to-buy together with Supply Chain Department
  4. Attend seasonal buying sessions in Paris to ensure suitable merchandise is assorted at appropriate quantities and network to achieve targeted sales projections and sell-through
  5. Prepare and align sales forecast on seasonal and permanent products with Supply Chain Department
  6. Deliver reliable sales planning data and work closely with Supply Chain Department for production distribution and allocation

Merchandising Function

Merchandising Strategy Development:

  1. Coordinate for the category related issues between Paris HQ, countries and boutiques
  2. Collaborate with markets to identify suitable target client for managed category
  3. Conduct market research, competitors analysis, market & product trends as well as pricing
  4. Arrange and propose retail pricing for all markets to be in line with price strategy & global positioning as set by Paris
  5. Provide support and contribute to ad hoc projects and activities related to merchandising

Product and Inventory Management:

  1. Manage product lifecycle from buying to delivery, ensuring timely and effective launches
  2. Optimize inventory level with Supply Chain, Paris HQ and through rebalancing among markets
  3. Propose season end discount and control discount to be in line with budget
  4. Responsible for organizing and coordinating promotional activities

Performance Analysis:

  1. Analyse sales performance through sell-through analysis & propose action plan
  2. Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for growth
  3. Adjust merchandising strategies based on performance insights to drive business results
  4. Propose incentives for selective categories and products to achieve set sales target

Cross-functional Team Collaboration:

  1. Work with VM on full product cycle including: product launches, boutique remerchandising & season end sale
  2. Provide and discuss with PR department to ensure brand image promotion is in line with product plan
  3. Work closely with Client Marketing team to maximize clientele activities and identify business opportunities

Training

  1. Liaise with Paris on seasonal product training materials
  2. Organize and conduct products training policy; initiate training tools when needed; identify training requirements; propose new training orientations; report to Paris about the roll-out and feedback of product training
  3. Provide the boutique network with relevant product information, sales strategies, and selling techniques

Team Management

  1. Lead, motivate and develop the team by following up their development actions and provide career development plans
  2. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence
  3. Establish a close working relationship with Merchanting team in different categories and retail teams

Profile

a) Education & Professional Qualifications:

  1. University graduate in related discipline

b) Work Experience:

  1. Previous experience in merchandising of luxury good and service related industry preferred
  2. Minimum 10 years relevant working experience

c) Skills:

  1. Strong analytical skill & with a good track record of strategy driven decision
  2. Excellent Excel skill
  3. Strong people management
  4. Training coaching skill
  5. Language skills: English fluent, other language ability is an added advantage
