Regional Finance Director

Our client is the largest player in its industry with an established global presence and Singapore serves as the Asia-Pacific (APAC) headquarters for the company.

This role manages the SG and MY Cluster with Singapore being one of their biggest markets in the region.

This role reports to the APAC CFO, based in Singapore with the following responsibilities:

• Providing strategic support and guidance to the regional Managing Director in Singapore and country managers on financial issues, including country performance.
• Overseeing finance leaders across SG and MY markets in the region, ensuring that governance, controls, and other critical targets are met.
• Assisting with M&A activities relevant to the APAC region.
• Managing regional projects to ensure compliance in reporting, as well as adherence to project timelines and milestones.
• Ensuring that all legal entities within the region are accounted for in the consolidated financial statements, and aligning all local units with the group's accounting standards while verifying that reported data matches local statutory accounts.
• Challenging and consolidating budgets and forecasts to align financial situations with management expectations.
• Overseeing project controlling from the bidding stage through to cash collection, including providing support, oversight, and validation.
• Have a team of 20 overall with a mix of project cost controllers, FP&A and accounting.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Related experience in a large MNC within a finance leadership role, ideally in Asia with a strong understanding of the commercial aspects of projects from tendering to completion is essential.
• Hold a CA/CPA or equivalent and have comprehensive oversight of accounting, finance, governance, and business partnerships. Experience managing a regional team is advantageous.
• Candidate should have project based industry experience as it is preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at both regional and local levels, are crucial.
