JOB SUMMARY:

Procurement:

  1. Build and maintain excellent relationships on behalf of PSA/BDP International – become the ‘face’ of PSA/BDP International to the airlines.
  2. Negotiate all Regional agreements with PSA/BDP’s core airlines & partners.
  3. Create a “winning and sustainable infrastructure”.
  4. Create Consolidation hubs ex PVG, HKG, SIN and KUL/BKK.
  5. Create and maintain Core “Carrier” Concept to spend > 70% contribution within a limited group of partners.
  6. Manage Pricing Rights; Local, Regional and Global.
  7. Manage Regional pricing Approach > 5,000Kgs.
  8. Set Monthly Top lane Pricing.

Development:

  1. Develop regional Airfreight Products & assist with the development of local airfreight products (inbound and outbound) and our Commercial teams.
  2. Support and set the growth in KPI’s for the air product through close interaction with business leaders to grow PSA/BDP’s tonnage and profitability.
  3. Accountable in Tender, Implementation and Retention Process.
  4. Assist in consistent consolidation startup for both key import and key export lanes.
  5. Work with overseas teams to provide access to your region.
  6. Support Sales by offering innovative solutions.
  7. Self-starter, able to work independently to achieve goals.
  8. Manage/Guide small operations teams in our consolidation hubs.
  9. Build bridges between our Asia operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Secure marketable buy rates; ULD’s / CPA / consolidation programs for PSA/BDP’s air freight product.
  2. Support sales efforts within PSA/BDP to gain new business opportunities for the airfreight product.
  3. Assist gateways with local contract negotiations / rate efforts.
  4. Monitor innovations and changes in the industry landscape.
  5. Update Catapult with current rate levels for all air products.
  6. Coordinate with the pricing team for daily rate quotes over 5,000 kgs Regional Spot desk.
  7. Coordinate with the RFQ team for special buys needed for regional and global RFQ’s.
  8. Communicate all rate changes and carrier changes/agreements with operations globally and with key customers.
  9. Maintain and create reports to run the airfreight business, including Monthly Market Air Product Update with KPI’s.
  10. Analyze reports to spot trends and advise MD’s and sales on market trends.
  11. Work with the Global business analyst of BDP Smart Insight to maintain and improve BDP Smart Insight for air.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure that all air inquiries are handled properly and expeditiously in accordance with corporate standards.
  2. Utilize problem-solving skills, innovation, and product strategies.
  3. Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  4. Handle individual rate quotes to the group within the provided time frame.
  5. Assist with the tender management team when needed.
  6. Update FSC and SSC tables in BDP Transport system and advise all operations.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Experience: 6-8 years of direct industry experience required. 3-5 years direct procurement with airline/partners preferred.

Education: College Degree from a 4-year university. Education in logistics/supply chain preferred.

Knowledge/Technical Skills: Must be fluent in Excel, Word, and other PC applications.

Personal Traits: Outstanding communication skills, detail-oriented, organized, team-oriented, high-energy, dependable, willing to travel.

Hours of Work: Full Time 8:30 – 5:00 Monday thru Friday (outside standard business hours as needed).
