Primary Objectives of Position
To manage the buildings and installation, the Mechanical services and installations of NEL Depot & SPLRT or DTL Depots to ensure safety, reliability and availability of all the installations, stations, depot and buildings meet the standards of SBS Transit.
Major Responsibilities
Supervise the maintenance contractors and conduct audit on the service provided to ensure the contractors deliver according to the agreed maintenance scopes and standard safely, effectively and efficiently.
Assist in Project coordination, liaison with the Authorities and contractors.
Provide technical assistance and advice to Rail Engineering/maintenance contractors.
Conduct relevant training and certification to ensure skill competency of inhouse staff and maintenance contractors.
Manage the Mechanical systems performance in terms of Safety, Availability and Maintainability.
Manage the building services in terms of Safety, Availability and Maintainability and upkeep the standards stipulated by the company and the Authorities.
Track logistic support in terms of spares, purchase requisition, claims settlement, liquidated damages, cost adjustments, administration of assets and budget, etc of the maintenance contractors.
Liaise with LTA on field tests, identify design discrepancies, modification and enhancement.
Coordinate with LTA on system reviews and additional and alteration works.
Administer and support QA activities such as review of Work Process Manual and Work Instructions.
Administer and support safety related issues/activities.
Review monthly reports from maintenance contractors.
Lead role in the investigation of incident, major fault or failure of Mechanical services, lifts, building services, identify causes and develop preventive actions.
Participate in sustainability and environmental conservation initiatives.
Appraise staff performance, recommend staff promotion and rewards.
Any other responsibilities as assigned by the superior.
Specific Safety Responsibilities
To comply with Company safety management manual.
To review feedback on safety related issues from Facilities Maintenance Mainline as well as other departments.
To be involved in the investigation and preparation of reports for Incidents/Accidents and develop follow up preventive actions.
To conduct periodic review of Departmental Work Instruction Manual and risk assessment.
To conduct periodic safety inspection on work premises/contractors work.
To conduct periodic safety talk on systems operation to his subordinates.
Job Specifications
Minimum Education / Qualifications
A recognised degree in Engineering, building services, facilities management.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience
Preferably more than 4 years of relevant experience in building and/or building services maintenance management.
Knowledge/Skills
Possess good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
