Job description

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Min Degree holder in quantity surveying, construction management or a related field.
  2. 2+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting in CIVIL ENGINEERING field preferably in the NPARK, SLA, LTA or HDB - Non building work (Improvement work for Open carpark project).
  3. Sound knowledge of Singapore construction industry practices, regulations and standards. Code of practice for BCA, HDB, SLA and NPARK.
  4. Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques.
  5. Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.
  6. Understanding general contracting, terms key contracting, lump sum contracting, etc.
  7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
  8. Experience working with AutoCAD or other applications and validating quantities from the given drawings.
  9. Experience working on various construction projects especially terms key project for NPARK, minor infrastructure works (Drainage, PCN and RC works), SLA projects and HDB non building improvement works.
  10. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
  11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities.
  12. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying.
  13. Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.

Your Tasks & Roles:

  1. Understanding the client requirements and quantities take off as per marking and RCP drawings.
  2. Preparing BOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets from the sales team.
  3. Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure.
  4. Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  5. Participation in the pre-tendering activities with client, architect and project managers and raising relevant pre-bid queries from the given tender.
  6. Preparing the initial quote and contract for the sales team from the company’s side.
  7. Coordination with the design team for analysing architectural and service drawings.
  8. Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations.
  9. Preparing interim and final valuations, variations and claims of the construction site.
  10. Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises.
  11. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money.
